There are several competing views and beliefs within the Messianic Torah community that many use to divide the believers. We, however, do not take a hard stance on these issues and look forward to the time when our Messiah Yeshua sets us all straight.
The Calendar
There are many different competing biblical calendars all with their own arguments for or against them, we do not discriminate against others who may follow a different version of the calendar.
The calendar we observe uses the sighted crescent moon in Jerusalem and visual observation of the aviv barley in Israel as the basis for the appointed times. We also follow an unbroken cycle of sevens for determining the Shabbat commonly called Saturday. If you follow a different reckoning we still welcome you to fellowship with us.
The Name
Our Father's name is of great contention. Possible pronunciations include: Yehovah, Yahweh, & Yahuah; among others. It is not the exact pronunciation that is important, it is our knowledge that our Father has a name and we can have a personal connection with Him.
Yah is the short, poetic version of the name, and its pronunciation is undisputed. Its pronunciation is preserved in the phrase Hallelujah which means "Praise Yah!"
There are variations on the understanding of the pronunciation of the Son's name as well, such as Yeshua, Yehoshua, Yahshua, Yahusha, Jesus, etc.
However you choose to pronounce the Father's and the Son's names, we welcome you to fellowship with us.
Some choose not to pronounce the name out of respect and/or tradition with substitutes such as Lord, Adonai, HaShem, etc. We do not discriminate if you choose this position either.
The Deity of Yeshua
This one certainly is contentious. There are many teachers out there telling people that unless you believe in their version of the divinity of the Son you cannot fellowship with them, and at worst, you are not a part of the body of the Messiah. Friends, there is no place in scripture that teaches any such thing, no matter how much these teachers twist the scriptures. We believe it is important to know who we worship and how the Son relates to the Father, but this belief is not a kind of litmus test to prove who is or isn't saved. We do not promote dis-fellowship over this topic.
Whatever our understanding, we can all agree with the revelation given to Peter about who Yeshua is: "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim.” (Matthew 16:16b)

- Yehovah means "He will be, He is, He was". An expression of His eternal nature.
- Yahweh means "He will cause to become". An ode to His role as creator and His divine authority.
- Yahuah means "Yah is He". Yah is the one.
