Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to the North County Vista location for our joint Shabbat meeting. It was a wonderful study and great fellowship. All praise to the most high over all the Earth.
Renewed moon last night at Double Peak Park in San Marcos. It is truly a blessing for brethren to dwell together in unity.
Shalom everyone, here are some pictures from a few of our groups celebrating the day of shouting! We are now in the days of awe leading up to Yom HaKippurim and Sukkot is right around the corner. Praise Yah!

The Hebrew Roots Movement might very well stand as one of the greatest examples to date of how man can take something intended as a blessing from God and turn it into a destructive force. The Bible offers many contrasts through which God is able to declare His will for His people. This dichotomy is one way that God can give cause for man to turn from his fleshly desires toward living a more righteous life that is pleasing to his Creator. One of the more obvious examples is found in Deuteronomy 30:19 which states: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” (NKJV) Polar opposites placed before us from which we are able to choose between a path that leads to God’s blessing, or a path that leads away from it. Christianity as an entity has been quite dichotomous throughout its history. I remember during one of the very first sermons I attended before my adult baptism that the pastor seemed concerned about those Christians who “were saints on Sunday and lived liked hell the rest of the week.” But traits like hypocrisy are easy enough to spot and hypocrisy is certainly not confined to Christianity. Throughout the gospels we read Yeshua’s rebukes toward certain Pharisees who honored God with their lips but denied Him with their actions. Or even others who told the laypeople to do one thing while they themselves went and did another. As one who studies people and how they interact with their surroundings, I sadly conclude that hypocrisy is a trait that all of humanity, for one reason or another, is constantly in battle with. Consider Yeshua’s words in Matthew 7:5, “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” I don’t know of one saint who hasn’t, at some point, forgotten to remove a plank from their own eye before trying to correct another. Continue reading here. All praise and glory to the most high Elohim and his son Yeshua the Messiah. We had a wonderful day of fellowship and teachings. We read through the Torah portion Korah and has a couple of talks on loving the brethren. Yah graciously provided us with spiritual healing and we are grateful for that. Thank you for everyone who was able to make it out and for everyone who couldn't make it but was with us in their thoughts and prayers. Have a blessed day!
Praise to the most high for the fellowship of his people. We had a wonderful time this past Shabbat and I want to thank everyone who came. May the Father bless this meeting and grow it. Amen.
We are meeting at 1523 E Main Street, El Cajon, CA 92019 starting at 10:30am on 5/19/2018.
*One thing that is VERY important to keep in mind is that this facility serves the needs of many people in the program in the center to the north of the building. Most of the people in the program were addicts and that being the case we ask that for the blessing of the bread and the wine we bring grape juice and not alcohol. We do not wish to stumble the children.

What a great day we had celebrating Purim today. We had lots of fun booing Haman and cheering Mordecai during our reading of Esther. Thank you for everyone who was able to make it.
Shalom everyone, here is some pictures from last Shabbat for the North County group. We had a great discussion and lots of fellowship. See you next time!
We just had our monthly San Diego Shabbat Fellowship meeting and boy we had a great time. There is nothing like fellowship with other like minded believers. This meeting happened to line up with the sighting of the new moon, so we were able to welcome in the new month together as well. Thank you to all our speakers and everyone who came; everyone who could not make it, we hope to see you next time. Praise Yah!
Thank you to everyone who came and thank you Kevin and Jasmine for hosting at the last minute. What a wonderful day of fellowship. We read the Torah portion ‘Yitro’ and had a great discussion. See y’all next time.
Another great meeting together with the brothers and sisters of Yah. Praise to the most high for bringing us all together and for opening our eyes to see marvelous things from your Torah. I want to thank everyone who came and thank all our wonderful speakers we had this week. I feel so blessed that I can be a part of this group. Have a blessed week.
What a beautiful day for a mikvah. Awesome day gathering with the brothers and sisters of the faith to do what we are called to do. Thank you to everyone who came. We had a great time together reading the Torah portion, reasoning together, and the food was great too. I feel so blessed to be a part of this group. Shalom.
1 Maccabees 1:41-49 41 Then the king wrote to his whole kingdom that all should be one people, 42 and that all should give up their particular customs. 43 All the Gentiles accepted the command of the king. Many even from Israel gladly adopted his religion; they sacrificed to idols and profaned the Sabbath. 44 And the king sent letters by messengers to Jerusalem and the towns of Judah; he directed them to follow customs strange to the land, 45 to forbid burnt offerings and sacrifices and drink offerings in the sanctuary, to profane Sabbaths and festivals, 46 to defile the sanctuary and the priests, 47 to build altars and sacred precincts and shrines for idols, to sacrifice swine and other unclean animals, 48 and to leave their sons uncircumcised. They were to make themselves abominable by everything unclean and profane, 49 so that they would forget the law and change all the ordinances. 50 He added, “And whoever does not obey the command of the king shall die.” We can see from the above passage what was targeted to erase the faith of Yah: 1) Forbid sacrifices to Yah 2) Profane Sabbaths and festivals 3) Defile the sanctuary and priests 4) Build idols 5) Sacrifice swine & unclean animals 6) Leave their sons uncircumcised 7) Eat unclean animals 8) Forget the Torah Little did Antiochus Epiphanes know that hundreds of years later the Catholic church would accomplish all the above. If you look at this list you can see that this is basically the main doctrine of that church and her daughters. In main line Christianity the Sabbath and the festivals are all but forgotten, Catholic "priests" are taken from just anyone out of the land instead of the sons of Aaron, idol building is rampant, swine and unclean animals are the center of religious holiday feasts, circumcision is ignored, and the Torah is ridiculed if it is even acknowledged at all. We know that the Father blesses us for obedience (Deuteronomy 28). We must continue on the path of life that the Father has laid out for us, but it is so easy to want to slip back into conformity with Satan's world, to take the easy way out, to compromise our integrity. When we feel the pressure to abandon the ways of the most high, be it from our work or our family or our friends. Do we have the resolve within ourselves to say "no", to tell this world that we will not be like it, we are going to follow our Master. What a great example of faith we have from the Maccabees. May all of us who follow the commandments of Elohim and the testimony of Yeshua have such faith and determination.
Shalom everyone, we had a great time at our first monthly San Diego Shabbat Meeting last Shabbat. It was a joy to visit with everyone. During this meeting I gave a teaching about Love and Unity in the Body and I wanted to post it here for anyone who might have missed it or wanted a copy. It covers how our pride and emotions can get in the way of the unity in the body of Messiah and the scriptures that deal with this issue. We all need to step back from time to time and realize that this walk isn't about us and our egos it is about Yah and his kingdom. May this teaching bless you in your walk.

Shalom brothers and sisters, I thought I would put up an example of what we do on a weekly basis as part of our Sabbath service to give you an idea of what to expect if you happen to be in our area and want to fellowship. Also, I though it would be beneficial for someone who is unable to attend and would either like to follow along or start a fellowship in their area. We follow the Parashah reading schedule and the companion scriptures and always end up with great conversations doing so. You can find a link to the schedule here. I believe that Yah is raising up his people in this time and is bringing them back to small home fellowships where everyone can discuss Torah together and grow together, instead of sitting silent is a building being told what to think. We are pretty fast and loose with the times on this agenda, but it helps to have some sort of structure to keep things moving and a motivation to move on (there are a lot of rabbits on them trails). Everything is pretty static on this agenda. Songs are based on whatever we are in the mood for, psalms we are just progressing by one each week, and we read the Shema each week and somehow always have a good conversation about it. The Torah portion changes each week according to the schedule. The weekly discussion topics are based on conversations we had the previous week that we wanted to get more information on or based on upcoming feast days or anything I am particularly interested in that week. A lot of the time it is just a printed article that has some good information. We close with the reading of the priests' blessing, another song, and a closing prayer.
When we are done I feel like we have accomplished something, it feels like a complete three course meal. You might be wondering at the length of time our meeting takes, at three and a half hours it is a lot of fellowship. I put in an intermission for food and discussion which helps break it up; but after you have been doing the Sabbath for some time, really, what else do you have to do on this day? Things that fill up my Shabbat are a blessing, especially when you have great people to fellowship with. I hope this information blesses you and helps you with your walk. |
